nisi-bi is a woodshop run by Naoki and Yuka Nakayama.

Based in Totsukawa Village in the deep mountains of Okuyoshino, Nara Prefecture—an area known for its thriving forestry—we primarily create wooden furniture.

Our focus is on making products that feel good to use in everyday life,

crafting with an appreciation for the texture and beauty of natural materials.

We use domestic wood—mainly Nara-grown hinoki cypress—as the primary material for our furniture.

By working closely with local sawmills, we source high-quality, locally harvested timber.

We value the natural character of wood and strive to create furniture that can be used for many years.

For the finish, we use natural, plant-based oils. All of our furniture is designed to be maintainable and repairable.

We also accept custom furniture orders.
